Itinerary in detail :


Day 1 HANOI / HOA BINH / MAICHAU (L/D)  (150km – 3h30)

• Pick up at your hotel and drive to the Thai minority villagemaichau1.200 of Mai Chau through Hoa Binh in the heart of Northern Vietnam.
• Arrive in Maichau and have lunch in a Thai house.
• In the afternoon, walk around Thai minority villages (Pomcoong and Lac villages) and learn about the traditional life of the local people.
• Lunch en route before continuing to the minority village of Mai Chau.
• Dinner in Mai Chau.
• Overnight in a house on stilts.
  

Day 2 MAICHAU / HOALU / NINH BINH / TAM COC (B/L)  (140km – 3h00)

• After breakfast, transfer to Ninh Binh through the National road 12A.
• Stop to visit Dinh and Le dynastic temples before driving to Tamcoc village.
• Check into hotel.
• Have lunch in a local restaurant.
• In the afternoon, take a small sampan for a spectacular 2-hour cruise through numerous waterways and a beautiful rural landscape of limestone cliffs and rice paddies, to the stunning Tam Coc caves.
• Dinner on your own.
• Overnight in Tam Coc.

• After breakfast, drive to the village of Kim Son and visit Phat Diem cathedral.
• On the way, stop and admire the beautiful scenery and take pictures before driving back to Ninh Binh.
• Lunch in a local restaurant
• Continue to Haiphong, Vietnam’s most important harbour.
• On the way, take beautiful photos of rice fields and stop to taste green bean cakes.
• When arriving, enjoy a city tour of Haiphong.
• Dinner on your own.
• Overnight in Haiphong.
  

Day 4 HAIPHONG / HALONG / HANOI (B/L)  (200km – 4h30)

• After breakfast, drive to Halong.
• When arriving, take a 5-hour cruise through the mystical Halong Bay and admire one of the natural marvels of Vietnam.
• Visit islets & natural caves and
• If the weather is nice, enjoy a swim in the clear water of the Gulf of Tonkin.
• Lunch with seafood served on board will delight you.
• Return to Hanoi in late-afternoon and transfer to your hotel.
• Dinner on your own.
