Itinerary in detail :


Day 1 HANOI / LAO CAI  (420km – 10h00: by train)
  • Pick up at your hotel at around 20h30 and transfer to the railway station to catch the night train to Lao Cai (Departure: 21h30, Arrival: around 6h00 on the next day).
  • Overnight on train (air-conditioned soft sleeper).
Day 2 LAO CAI / SAPA (B/L)  (39km – 1h00)
  • Arrive at Lao Cai railway station early in the morning
  • Transfer to Sapa (in 1 hour), home of more than 30 minority tribes (Black H'mong, Flower H'mong, Red Dao) and of Vietnam’s highest peak: Mount Fansipan.
  • When arriving, have breakfast just after check-in
  • Explore the village of Sapa and its local market.
  • Lunch in a local restaurant.
  • In the afternoon, visit the surrounding areas of Sapa: Ta Van (Zay) and Laochai (H’mong) villages where you will enjoy a walk and discover the traditional lifestyle of friendly local people as well as the rural scenery of rice paddies, wooden bridges, and rivers, etc.
  • Dinner on your own.
  • Overnight in Sapa.
Day 3 SAPA / LAO CAI / HANOI (B/L)  (420km – 10h00: by train)
  • After breakfast, spend a full day of visiting the surrounding areas of Sapa: a light trek to explore beautiful villages or areas, visit Ma Tra village (black H’mong) (trekking at the easy level: 4km - 2,5 hours).
  • Lunch in a local restaurant.
  • Free until around 16h00, departure from Lao Cai on the night train to return to Hanoi.
  • Dinner on your own.
  • Snack and overnight on train (air-conditioned soft sleeper).
Day 4 HANOI (B)
  • Arrive in Hanoi around 5h30, transfer to your hotel and have a breakfast.
