There are small post - office kiosks all over the city that do the basics. Go to the main domestic and international post office in the event that you need to do anything complicated.

Domestic post office

Occupies a full city block facing Hoan Kiem lake. You can send letters, pick up domestic packages and purchase philatelic items.

Has its own entrance to the right of the domestic office.

HCMC's French-style main post office

with its glass canopy and iron frame, is right next lo Noire Dame Cathedral. Built between 1886 and 1891, it is the largest post office in Vietnam and worth visiting just for its architecture.

Customers conduct their post and telecommunications business here under the benevolent gaze of Ho Chi Minh. To your right as you enter the building is the poste restante counter. Pens, envelopes, aerograms, postcards and stamp collections are sold at the counter to the right of the entrance, and outside the post office along D Nguyen Du.

Countless other post office branches are scattered around town and those in Pham Ngu Lao and Cholon are marked on the relevant maps. Like the main post office, many of these also keep late hours.
