Day 1 HANOI On arrival transfer to your selected hotel. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 2 HANOI (B) After breakfast spend a full day touring the capital and visit Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (outside), his former residence, One Pillar Pagoda, Quanh Tanh and Tran Quoc Pagodas, Temple of Literature and Historical Museum. Discover Hoan Kiem Lake, Ngoc Son Temple and enjoy a rickshaw tour in the old quarter with its antique shops. Early in the evening, you will enjoy a traditional water puppet Show. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 3 HANOI / HOABINH / MAICHAU / NINH BINH (B/L) After breakfast drive to the Thai minority village of MaiChau via Hoa Binh in the heart of Tonkin. On the way stop at Muong and Dao minority villages and learn about the traditional life of the local people. Lunch is in a stilt house in Maichau. Continue to Ninh Binh. Overnight in Ninh Binh.
Day 4 NINH BINH / PHAT DIEM / HOALU / HAIPHONG (B) After an early breakfast, drive to the village of Kim Son and visit Phat Diem’s cathedral, then continue to Van Lam village and board a small sampan for a spectacular 3-hour cruise through numerous waterways and beautiful rural landscape of limestone cliffs and rice paddies to the stunning Tam Coc caves. Free lunch in a local restaurant in Van Lam. In the afternoon visit Dinh and Le dynastic temples before driving to Hai Phong. On the way stop in Nam Dinh to visit Pho Minh Pagoda, and in Thai Binh to visit Keo pagoda. Overnight in Haiphong.
Day 5 HAIPHONG / HALONG / HANOI (B/L) After breakfast take a sightseeing tour of Vietnam’s most important seaport before driving to Halong. On arrival board for a 5-hour cruise through the mystical Halong Bay and admire one of the natural marvels of Vietnam. Visit islets, natural caves of Dau Go & Trinh Nu and, if weather permits, enjoy a swim in the clear waters of the Gulf of Tonkin. For lunch, seafood on board will delight you, before returning to Hanoi later in the afternoon. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 6 HANOI / DANANG / HOI AN (B) Transfer to the airport for your morning flight to Danang. On arrival visit the Cham Museum and Marble Mountains. Continue to the riverside town of Hoi An which was an important trading port during the 17th and 18th centuries and which, nowadays, is officially listed as a world heritage site. Check in the hotel then take a walking tour round Hoi An ancient town and explore its treasures: the Japanese Bridge, PhucKien Pagoda, PhungHung Old Merchant House, QuangDong Assembly Hall. Overnight in Hoi An.
Day 7 HOIAN / MYSON / HOIAN (B) After breakfast drive to Myson, the ancient kingdom of Champa, and spend the morning touring Vietnam’s most important Cham ruins (UNESCO World Heritage Site). Return to the hotel early in the afternoon. The rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight in Hoi An.
Day 8 HOI AN / DANANG / HUE (B) After an early breakfast, transfer to Hue via the Hai Van Pass and through the picturesque fishing village of Lang Co. In the afternoon visit the Imperial Citadel, Emperor Khai Dinh and Tu Duc’s mausoleum Overnight in Hue.
Day 9 HUE / SAIGON (B) After breakfast take a boat for a cruise on the gentle Perfume River and visit Dong Ba market, Thien Mu Pagoda on the riverbank and Emperor Minh Mang’s tomb. In the afternoon transfer to the airport to take the afternoon flight to Saigon. On arrival transfer to your selected hotel. Overnight in Saigon.
Day 10 SAIGON (B) After breakfast spend a full day touring bustling Saigon: Enjoy a tour to Cho Lon and stop at Binh Tay Market. Discover the vast sanctuary of Vinh Nghiem Pagoda and a lacquer ware factory. In the afternoon enjoy a tour in the Old Colonial Residential Quarter and discover the old Hotel de Ville, the Opera House, Notre-Dame Cathedral, built in the 19th century, the dazzling French-style post office and the Reunification Palace (outside). Finally, end the day with a visit to the War Remnants Museum. Overnight in Saigon.
Day 11 SAIGON / TAY NINH / CUCHI / SAIGON (B/L) In the morning depart to Tay Ninh and discover the Holy See Temple which reflects the original Caodaist religion. Attend the colorful mass at noon before lunch in a local restaurant and then continue to Cu Chi tunnels, an incredible underground network built by the Vietcong during the Vietnam war. Return to Saigon at the end of the afternoon. Overnight in Saigon.
Day 12 SAIGON / CAIBE / VINHLONG / CANTHO (B/L) Morning departure from Ho Chi Minh City and drive overland to Cai Be in the heart of the Mekong Delta. On arrival board a sampan for a cruise on the Mekong River and its multiple canals to Vinh Long. Visit Cai Be floating market, an old colonial house, a rice corn factory and taste local specialties for lunch. In the afternoon continue to Can Tho, the main town of the Mekong Delta. Overnight in Can Tho.
Day 13 CANTHO / CAIRANG / CHAU DOC (B) After breakfast board a Sampan to visit Cai Rang floating market and a family run noodle-making factory and witness the rural life and the beautiful vegetation along the riverbanks. Discover Can Tho’s market then drive to Chau Doc, not far from the Cambodian border. On arrival visit the Sam Mountain, a popular pilgrimage site gathering temples of Chinese, Cham or Khmer influences, before checking into your hotel. Overnight in Chau Doc.
Day 14 CHAU DOC / SAIGON (B) After breakfast cruise through a surprising village of floating houses where fishes are bred in their natural environment, and learn more about Cham culture while visiting a small village and its mosque. In the afternoon drive back to Ho Chi Minh City. Arrive early in the evening. Overnight in Saigon.
Day 15 SAIGON OUT (B) Free time until transfer to Tan Son Nhat airport for departure flight.
